Stoking your fire (5.12.20 9:32pm)
Now, today's topic is quite a personal one to me, that being the topic of personal drive. Personal drive is a very important thing, especially in regard to what you do with yourself, as that drive or long term dream is what changes our decisions in the now. Personally, my long term dream is to play music for a living, though if you were to go deeper and a bit more broad than I suppose it would be that I want to communicate my emotions and thoughts through a medium I'm passionate about, whether that be music or something like this blog, or even my photography (Which, by the way, I'm going to be making a separate page for that, so stay tuned). My dream is to help people who are like me, so that when they listen to or see something I've done, they don't feel so alone. My girlfriend finds it absolutely a mystery how I can have such a strange and unlikely dream with my music, but she understands that my wider goal is achievable through
many means.
But, you might be asking yourself "Em, what in the sugar plum fuck does that have to do with the price of fish?" And, to that I say this, my message to you, reader, don't narrow your dreams down to one simple thing, think about what makes you want to pursue that dream, and find what components of it can be seen in other things, that way you are always working towards your dream.
Personally, not only do I keep this website updated (whenever I can, admittedly I've been lax this week), I also do Polaroid photography, as well as simply talking to and maintaining the connections I've currently got, getting to know people in a way that allows me to be close, and spread those messages I would otherwise normally only put into my music. Think about every action you're doing, and ask yourself how they help you towards that dream, and if you find yourself with a handful of things which don't? Ya fucking throw them away! If something or someone isn't helping you stoke that fire in you, they can get fucked.
That's enough deep conversation for today though, expect another playlist hopefully by Monday, and until then, I'll see ya round.
